Mrs. Amelia Reed Grant, aged 98 years, one of Mansfield's most venerable and respected residents, died at the family home of her daughter, Miss Cora Grant, 93 East First Street, Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock.  In spite of her advanced years, Mrs. Grant had enjoyed excellent health until a few weeks ago, and was much more than ordinarily active considering that she was near the century mark in age.

The deceased is survived by one daughter, Miss Cora Grant, which whom she made her home, and two sons, Robert of Massillon and Albert of Bremerton, Wash.  Twenty-six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren also are living.  She was a Virginian by birth, being a native of Martinsburg, later coming to Massillon and from there to Mansfield about twelve years ago.  She was thoroughly conversant with current affairs, evincing deep interest in political and social matters, and greatly enjoyed casting her first vote for President Harding in 1920.

Mrs. Grant was a woman of keen mentality and remarkable intellectual power, combined with the poise and dignity of her native south, and was very popular and highly respected by a wide circle of friends.  The funeral was held this afternoon at three o'clock from the residence, the services being conducted by Rev. Frederick Harkness, of Grace Episcopal Church.  The body was interred at Massillon.
